THE SUNNYSIDE EXPERIENCE
Sunnyside Estate was carved out of the Hyndford Estate in 1694. The situation of this place suggests habitation for an even longer time and in fact before 1694, another estate was here, ‘Mouseholm’. At one time the Clyde Valley was a significant producer of soft fruit and apples and there are many old orchards still to be found here. Sunnyside had one such orchard and it’s still possible to see the terracing in the steep fields which lead from the walled garden down towards the Mouse and Clyde rivers which border the estate.

Colin and Lucy bought Sunnyside Estate in 2015 and have since worked hard to bring it back to its former glory. It is a special place and we hope our visitors enjoy being here as much as we do!
SUNNYSIDE FARM SHOP
The farm shop at Sunnyside sells free range eggs, fruit, plants and other fresh produce.
We have been adopting rescue hens since 2018 and to date more than 60 hens have called Sunnyside their home. They roam free in the fields and enjoy a natural varied diet - so different from their lives before spent in cages. You can taste the happy life our hens live in their eggs which are simply delicious!

SUNNYSIDE COTTAGES
The estate has three luxurious cottages each with unique design and features. The cottages offer fantastic holiday accommodation and allow guests to explore the estate and spectacular Clyde Valley walks and enjoy the many local activities. The Gatehouse dates back to the early 1800s and was the original entry point to the estate. Rose Cottage will be available in late summer 2021 with dedicated sun room and direct entry to the walled rose garden. Finally, available in 2022, Ghillie Dhu's Cottage offers spectacular views of the River Clyde and a secluded and peaceful retreat in the Estate's private woodlands.

WALLED GARDEN WEDDINGS
This is one of our most exciting plans. From summer 2021 Sunnyside Estate shall welcome happy couples to wed in the romantic surroundings of the beautiful walled Rose Garden with small, socially distanced wedding celebrations to follow. Dinner and dancing in a marquee to follow until the wee hours on the croquet lawn and a pop up bar can also be arranged.

SUNNYSIDE GOLF
For golf enthusiasts we can offer the use of the Golf Academy - a dedicated golf simulation room allowing users to play a full round with detailed analytics and of course the benefit of being able to play a number of different courses whatever the weather. We can also assist guests in booking a round at local courses, including the excellent, James Braid designed, Lanark Golf Course which is just a short drive away. The course is the 25th oldest in the World and has hosted many prestigious events, including Qualifying for the Open Golf Championship.

STABLES
Our DIY livery with comfortable stables and great all weather riding facilities will appeal to riders, horses and ponies alike. The stables are situated behind the walled garden with walk-out paddock access. An indoor riding arena offers exercising possibilities whatever the weather - and a flood lit outdoor arena is spacious and offers direct access to a further two paddocks. Stabling for horses and ponies is also available for guests staying in the Estate's cottages.
